Going Family 2014 Highlights

ô  Over spring break our family took a much needed vacation to San Diego.  We went to the beach, Legoland, SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo and other amazing sites and attractions.  The kids are begging to go back again soon.

ô  During the summer we camped at our annual family reunion at Willow Flats.  We all had fun playing in the river, hiking to the spring, playing games, hanging out with family and all being surrounded by the beauties of nature.

ô  Grandpa and Grandma Going (Glade’s parents) moved back to Utah after living in Ohio for the past 13 years.  We are happy to be only 10 minutes away from them instead of thousands of miles.

ô  We had many family get togethers on Glade’s side of the family this past summer with a lot of relatives visiting from out of town.  It was fun visiting, eating, and spending time together with cousins, siblings, aunts and uncles.

ô  Both Glade and Nancy received new callings at church this past year.  Nancy is the Nursery Leader and enjoys being in there with Zac.  Glade is now serving on the Stake High Council, which has broaden his perspective on church matters.

ô  Richard, Nancy’s dad who lives with us is stable and doing well.  He needs constant care and love, which we give him.  The grandkids can always put a smile on his face.  He will be celebrating his 84th birthday this month.

ô  Preston is now 13 and reminds us that he is a teenager and not a kid.  He loves Junior High and of course his video games.  He would play them all day long if he could.  Luckily, he does like golfing, swimming and snowboarding.  It is neat to see him learn and grow in the Aaronic Priesthood and serve those around him.

ô  Trevor will be 11 years old in January and is in the 5th grade.  He has kept active in sports, playing basketball, baseball and flag football.  Playing the piano is not his favorite, but he is becoming a good pianist.  He is excited about his new room we are finishing in the basement and receiving his arrow of light award in cub scouts in January.

ô  Tanner, who is in the 2nd grade and 7 ½ years old is our well rounded, energetic kid who likes to follow his brothers around.  He had fun playing basketball, baseball and indoor soccer this year. He played his first piano solo in church and loves riding his bike and scooter.

ô  Sadie is 5 years old and started Preschool this year and loves it.  She is our star performer at home with singing and dancing.  She continues to take dance classes and is improving in speech school.  Sadie surprised us with her driving skills on Mario Kart Wii, thanks to her brothers.  She loves being outside either swinging or riding her bike.

ô  Zac is 2 and is our little caboose who loves trains.  He doesn’t talk much, but he does know how to say Choo-Choo!  The other kids are constantly fighting over him to hold and play with him, but not when he needs a diaper change.  Zac is full of smiles and has such kissable cheeks.

May the Spirit of Christ be in your homes always, especially during this Holiday Season.

Love,

Glade, Nancy, Preston, Trevor, Tanner, Sadie & Zac Going
